2026 pickleball tournaments near New Orleans and within a 3-hour drive

2026 Pickleball Tournaments Near New Orleans and Louisiana

Trying to find a real pickleball tournament near New Orleans should not feel like detective work. You should not have to chase five tabs, two stale calendars, and one sketchy social post just to figure out where people are actually playing. So I’m keeping one clean list here: 2026 pickleball tournaments within roughly a 3-hour drive of New Orleans.

I coach and play around the New Orleans area, and I keep running into the same problem: good tournaments get announced in five different places and disappear just as quickly. Nothing gets added here unless I can confirm a real date and venue plus a usable registration path, an official organizer listing, or a legitimate organizer contact. If registration is closed or not open yet, I say that instead of pretending you can still sign up. I’ll keep cleaning this up as events change so it stays useful instead of turning into a junk drawer.

Last updated: Aug. 13, 2026

About the status dates: The page-level update tells you when I last cleaned up this calendar. Each tournament card shows the most recent date I checked that event’s posted registration information, so an individual card may have an older verification date than the page itself.

How an event makes this list: I confirm the date and venue plus a usable registration path, an official organizer listing, or a real organizer contact. Distances are approximate from ZIP code 70001 in Metairie so every event starts from the same place. Traffic can turn an easy drive into a small life decision, especially through Baton Rouge or along I-10, so check your map before committing.

Upcoming 2026 Pickleball Tournaments Near New Orleans

Aug. 13 update: I have 19 upcoming tournaments on the calendar, running from Aug. 15 through Dec. 12. Five are within about 40 miles of Metairie, several are indoors, and five advertise moneyball or cash-prize play. The Louisiana State Championship at Stacks is the newest addition, and the Biloxi MiLP listing is now live as the Mississippi State Championship with registration open.

What changed in this update: I added the Louisiana State Championship The Dink Minor League Pickleball @ Stacks Cup in Baton Rouge. I also replaced the old “coming soon” Biloxi MiLP listing with the live Mississippi State Championship listing, including current registration, pricing, DUPR+ requirements, divisions, and refund information. Monster Mash and Bash was rechecked and expanded with current pricing, shirt deadline, partner policy, match guarantee, refund deadline, and optional tournament insurance. Every tournament card on this page was rechecked Aug. 13. SJA, the Louisiana Open, and Rock and Roll Round Robin are still listed because the tournament dates are ahead even though their posted registration deadlines have passed. I keep future events visible after registration closes so players can still see what is happening nearby, but I mark that status instead of treating them as open. I left the 2026 Pickleball World Championships off because the Dallas area is outside this page’s practical driving range, and I am still holding back the Nov. 7 Money Hill Bangers Tournament until there is a usable registration path, official organizer listing, or signup contact.

Easy Drive (41 to 80 Miles)

Once you get into the Baton Rouge, Walker, Houma, and Schriever range, mileage is only the clean part of the math. I-10 traffic can make the same tournament feel a lot closer on one day than another, so I would check the actual drive before treating these as automatic day trips.

Status checked Aug. 13: Registration closed Aug. 3 at 11:55 PM. SJA is closed to new entries, but I am leaving it here because the tournament itself is still ahead. If you are already registered, the useful part is that this is a one-day indoor fundraiser with an early 8:30 AM start.

Louisiana State Championship – The Dink Minor League Pickleball @ Stacks Cup

Status checked Aug. 13: Registration page live. This is the team-format championship option at Stacks, with both traditional four-player MiLP and three-player MiLP v3 divisions. The bigger hook is the Dream Ticket: the event advertises automatic qualification to the 2027 MiLP Championships for qualifying winners, plus cash prizes in eligible divisions.

  • Approx. 73 miles from 70001
  • Oct. 8–11, 2026

  • Registration ends Oct. 5, 2026 at 11:55 PM CT.

Hero Fest is the unusual one on this calendar: an indoor set-partner round robin on polished cement with a Franklin X-26, wrapped inside a much bigger festival weekend. 🎧 Coach AJ breaks down finding the right New Orleans-area tournament for you:

Which Tournament Actually Fits You?

  1. Start with the drive. Decide how much windshield time your weekend can honestly survive. A four-game guarantee can feel a lot less generous after a three-hour ride home.
  2. Choose the format you actually want. Round robins usually give newer tournament players more repeated play. Brackets can get serious quickly. MiLP adds team strategy. Moneyball adds stronger financial and competitive pressure.
  3. Check the deadline before the event date. The event date tells you the weekend; the deadline tells you whether you can still enter.
  4. Use the right rating. If an event requires DUPR, read what DUPR means and how it works, then check which DUPR rating the event should use. If you are unsure where you belong, use the PickleTip guide to skill levels, ratings, and rankings.
  5. Do not assume the fine print is standard. Confirm partner rules, age and skill divisions, game guarantees, start times, refund terms, and weather plans before paying.

For your first tournament: Do not choose by prize pool or event name. Look for a clear skill division, a round robin or useful game guarantee, and a drive short enough that a long day does not become a miserable one. Then read how to prepare for a pickleball tournament and the PickleTip tournament strategy guide.

Questions Players Usually Ask Me About These Tournaments

What is the closest upcoming tournament to Metairie?

The next tournament by date is the SJA Alumnae Association event in Baton Rouge on Aug. 15, although its posted registration deadline has passed. By distance from Metairie, the closest upcoming choices are Monster Mash and Bash at JPRD and the YSAP MiLP Moneyball and New Orleans Gold Cup events at The Exchange, followed by Pickle in the Dell in Slidell.

Which events are indoors?

SJA, Louisiana Open, Shot Starter, YSAP MiLP Moneyball, Rock and Roll Round Robin, Louisiana Senior Games, Hero Fest, New Orleans Gold Cup, Louisiana State Championship at Stacks, and Mississippi State Championship at The Picklr Biloxi are posted at indoor or air-conditioned venues. For late-summer tournaments, that belongs near the top of the decision—not buried under the address.

Which events have moneyball or cash prizes?

YSAP advertises a $4,500 pool tied to registration totals. Bayou Battle advertises a guaranteed $5,000 pool. The Club Fall Challenge estimates $7,500 to $8,000, New Orleans Gold Cup includes open cash-prize divisions, and the Louisiana State Championship at Stacks publishes cash prizes for eligible MiLP divisions. A posted pool does not tell you what your division will pay, so check the team cap, payout rules, and registration count before treating it like a payday.

Which tournaments may be best for a first-time player?

Based on the posted formats, start with events that offer clear skill divisions, round-robin play, or a useful match guarantee. Paddles For Progress posts a round robin followed by medal rounds. New Orleans Gold Cup advertises six games. Monster Mash and Bash and The Club Fall Challenge advertise at least four. The Louisiana and Mississippi State Championship MiLP events guarantee at least three team matches and six played games. The best choice still depends on whether your division has enough teams to run as posted.

Which events offer senior, youth, singles, or DUPR play?

Louisiana Senior Games is the dedicated senior event, while Louisiana Open and Bayou Battle also publish senior divisions. Pickle in the Dell, Louisiana Open, and Labor Day at Pickleball Kingdom include youth or junior play. Pickle in the Dell, New Orleans Gold Cup, Raphael Village Fun-Raiser, and The Club Fall Challenge publish singles. YSAP MiLP Moneyball, Pickle in the Dell, Monster Mash and Bash, Louisiana Open, Labor Day at Pickleball Kingdom, Louisiana State Championship, Mississippi State Championship, and Americana YMCA Reindeer Games either require DUPR, require DUPR+, advertise DUPR reporting, or describe the event as DUPR-rated. The organizer’s live page is the final word on whether every match will count.

How current is this list?

I last cleaned up the calendar on Aug. 13, 2026. I rechecked every tournament card, added the Louisiana State Championship at Stacks, updated the Biloxi event to the live Mississippi State Championship listing, and expanded the Monster Mash and Bash details. The status date on each tournament card tells you when I last checked that event’s posted registration information. Click the organizer page once more before you pay or leave home. Brackets combine, prices move, start times change, and outdoor plans can shift after I update this page.

Before you leave: A calendar gets you interested; the organizer’s latest page gets you to the right court at the right time.

If you are organizing a tournament within roughly three hours of New Orleans, send PickleTip the event date, venue, registration link or official event listing, format, divisions, pricing, and organizer contact through the contact method connected to the PickleTip About page.
