This USA Pickleball MMP Sanctioned event promises to be a thrilling showcase of pickleball skills, combining serious competition with a fun and engaging atmosphere.
Event Details and Venue
The tournament A Showcase of Skill and Fun, will be held at ECT Pickleball – Bluewater Bay, featuring 6 outdoor courts with permanent nets and a hard surface. Participants are required to be members of USA Pickleball and must use the Diadem Premium Power yellow ball. With a registration deadline of February 18, 2024, and a fee of $50, players are encouraged to sign up early for this much-anticipated event.
Competition Structure
The Winter Thriller Pickleball Tournament includes Men’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, and Mixed Doubles, catering to various age groups and skill divisions. The tournament format varies based on the number of registrations, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all participants.
Skill Divisions:
- Singles: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+
- Doubles: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0+
FORMAT:
Brackets with 4-6 registrations: Round Robin 1 to 15, win by 2
Brackets with 7-12 registrations: Pool Play 1 to 15, win by 2. Top 2 teams play for gold. 3rd and 4th play for bronze. All medal matches 2/3 to 11, win by 2.
Registration and Check-In
Players must check in at least 15 minutes before their bracket starts and ensure they have in-game text messaging enabled for match notifications. Refereed matches are a highlight of the tournament, with pre-medal and medal matches being officiated to maintain the highest standards of play.
Additional Information
The venue, ECT Pickleball, offers excellent facilities but no onsite parking. Participants are advised to use the parking available at the nearby Bluewater Bay Golf Course. The tournament also has a clear refund policy and guarantees at least two games per event.
