Drew and Brittany Brees to Launch the First NOLA Pickleball Fest
The Brees Dream Foundation, led by NFL veteran Drew Brees and his wife Brittany, is thrilled to announce the creation of the first annual NOLA Pickleball Fest. This spectacular event is set to take place from August 10-13, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
A Festival of Pickleball, Food, Music, and More
“Brittany and I could not be more excited to bring the first annual NOLA Pickleball Fest to New Orleans,” Drew Brees shares. “We’re combining one of the fastest-growing and most enjoyable sports with a city that knows how to host a party, aiming to create one of the premier events of the summer. It will feature great food, music, events, and plenty of pickleball, all inside the Convention Center. Our goal is to crown amateur champions and raise proceeds for the Brees Dream Foundation that will continue to benefit our ongoing efforts in New Orleans.”
In Collaboration for a Grand Celebration
The Brees Dream Foundation has partnered with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and New Orleans & Company. It’s also working with national companies Joola and The Kitchen to meticulously organize every aspect of the event.
Features of the NOLA Pickleball Fest
The NOLA Pickleball Fest will be a unique, festival-style pickleball tournament featuring 24 tournament-quality PickleRoll courts, live music, a celebrity exhibition match featuring Drew Brees, and a variety of VIP experiences. The tournament will consist of three divisions of round-robin play: women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles for skill levels 3.0 to 5.0+. Competitors can partake in two age brackets: Open and 40 years old and over.
Exceptional Spectator Experience
Spectators can anticipate featured matches being played on a center court with grandstand seating. The Kern Studio Mardi Gras floats will offer a unique VIP viewing experience. This event promises to be an unforgettable experience and the ultimate pickleball party.
Charitable Contribution and Expectations
The Brees Dream Foundation will distribute funds raised from the event to partner charitable organizations along the Gulf Coast. Given the sport’s increasing popularity and the charitable aspect of the NOLA Pickleball Fest, it is expected to be a hit among amateur and seasoned Pickleball players alike.
