My Pickleball Journey: City Park Chronicles – Entry 25

As I sit down to write my 25th journal entry about my pickleball journey, I can’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to play this amazing sport. It has been an incredible ride so far, filled with ups and downs, victories and defeats, and most importantly, great memories with my friends.

A setback in my journey

Recently, I suffered an injury that has kept me off the pickleball court for a few days. It’s been tough not being able to play, but I know that rest and recovery are crucial to getting back to my favorite pastime. Today, I decided to join my son AJ and our pickleball crew at City Park, even though I am still unable to put much weight on my right foot.

An evening at City Park

City Park is becoming one of our favorite places to play pickleball, with well-maintained courts and a great atmosphere. When we arrived, the sun had already set, and the lights on the courts were on. We were greeted by our friends Dev, Mark, Patrick, John, and Jenn. Doug and Tuna arrived a little late, but we were glad to see them nonetheless.

Despite my injury, I was still able to hang out with my friends and watch some great matches. They all took turns playing with each other in doubles matches, and the competition was fierce. It was fascinating to observe the different strategies being used by each player and the unique playing styles of each pair.

As the night progressed, we chatted about the game, our aspirations, and our recent victories and defeats. Although The City Park courts are supposed to close at 9 pm, the group was allowed to play until around 9:45, enjoying every moment of the game and each other’s company.

A great night at City Park

Overall, it was a great night at City Park, and I feel grateful to have such amazing friends who share my passion for pickleball. Watching them play was inspiring and made me even more determined to get back on the court as soon as possible.

If you’re reading this and haven’t tried pickleball yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a fun and challenging sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. And if you’re already a pickleball enthusiast, I hope my journal entries inspire you to continue pursuing your passion and making memories with your friends and family.

Join me next time as I continue my pickleball journey and share more of my experiences on the court.
