This amateur pickleball tournament welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. It offers a platform for competitive play.
Qualifying Divisions and Seeding Explained
Divisions range from 3.0 to 5.0, catering to various skill levels. Each match is an opportunity to showcase talent. Participants will be seeded based on their performance, with divisions set at various skill levels using DUPR ratings. The event emphasizes inclusivity, allowing players to self-assess if they have limited match history.
Format and Scoring
The NOLA Amateur Open offers a mix of doubles, mixed doubles, and singles formats, with a guarantee of at least 5 games for each participant. Divisions are based on skill level and age, ensuring fair competition. The tournament features a mix of round-robin and bracket play. Rally scoring ensures every game is exciting. Rally scoring ensures every rally counts, with matches progressing to ensure competitive integrity and accurate seeding for bracket play.
Schedule and Registration
Early registration is encouraged, with discounts available for multiple events. The Exchange Pickleball + Bar will host this vibrant community event, welcoming players of all skill levels. Early Bird rates are available until April 1st. The event spans two days with a detailed schedule to follow.
men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday, mixed on Sunday. Times come out on that Wednesday but the ladies typically kick things off first thing in the morning Saturday.
Gold Cup Series and Awards
The Gold Cup Difference
Exclusive to Gold Cup events, the finals have a unique format. Winners receive medals and an invitation to the National Championships. The event stands out with its focus on player experience, offering different formats like the Gold Cup Series for an enhanced competitive edge. Medals and awards await the top performers.
Please note that the tournament scheduled for April 20th and 21st at this venue is not a Gold Cup event. The Gold Cup, known for its unique finals format and special awards, including medals and invitations to the National Championships, will take place later, on July 13th and 14th.
The April event, while not part of the Gold Cup series, still promises a competitive atmosphere and will offer its own distinct set of challenges and rewards. Participants can look forward to a well-organized event focused on providing an excellent player experience.
