Brother Martin Pickleball Tournament: A Day of Friendly Competition and Community Support
Tournament Details and Schedule
Participants are expected to check in at 9:00 a.m., with matches kicking off at 9:30 a.m. The competition is structured as a double elimination tournament, ensuring that all teams get a fair shot at victory. The first team to score 11 points by a 2-point margin wins, with a sudden death rule applied at 14 all. The excitement builds up to the award ceremony, slated to begin no earlier than 1:00 p.m.
Participation and Entry Fees
For an entry fee of $60 per team, participants not only secure their spot in the tournament but also enjoy an array of amenities. These include food, snacks, a ditty bag, and drinks, providing sustenance and energy throughout the day. However, space is limited, highlighting the importance of early registration to secure participation.
Divisions and Brackets
The tournament caters to various skill levels, divided into four main categories: Women Above 3.0, Men Above 3.0, Women 3.0 and Below, and Men 3.0 and Below. This segmentation ensures competitive balance, allowing participants to face off against players of similar skill levels. It’s a perfect setup for both seasoned players and newcomers to the sport.
Special Notes and Considerations
All participants must choose between this event and the concurrent Tennis Tournament, as double entries are not permitted. Furthermore, if adverse weather conditions lead to the event’s cancellation, all proceeds will go to Brother Martin High School. Nonetheless, the community will still gather for a celebration in the back Pavilion, ensuring that the spirit of the event lives on, rain or shine.
