The Opelika Sportsplex, known as “The Plex,” will host the tournament on its 24 outdoor, covered courts. With no fee for parking and ample space, the venue is perfect for both players and spectators.
Tournament Structure and Divisions
The tournament features 5-year age divisions starting at 50, and 4 skill level divisions (2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+). This structure ensures fair and competitive play across various skill levels and age groups. Players may compete up in skill or down in age, with at least one partner fitting the appropriate age bracket.
Operational Notes
Tournament operations may merge brackets depending on the number of players, ensuring everyone gets a chance to compete. Medals will be awarded in each age/skill group, highlighting the achievements of participants. Additionally, the round-robin format is anticipated for all events, fostering a spirited and inclusive competition.
Additional Information
Hosted by the Opelika Pickleball Club, the tournament will be played on asphalt surfaces with permanent nets and the Franklin X-40 ball.
